Another recipe that I made a few weeks before Easter but only now have the time to blog about. However, cookies and apples never go out of fashion around here!
I was looking for a fun and relatively fast way to make an apple crumble for Alex. I’m so bad at making pie crusts I couldn’t bear to even try that afternoon. This dessert is super simple. A base of apples, brown sugar and cinnamon topped with rounds of Snickerdoodle dough. I made the dough from scratch but you can cheat and use store bought dough.
I’m not a huge fruit for dessert person but this even appealed to me. Nothing is better than a cookie hot out of the oven. Living down south now cinnamon apples are a common side dish. I love apples but choosing hot apples was never my first choice. They’re starting to grow on me now. With a cold scoop of vanilla ice cream this crisp might convert me to a fruit lover…maybe.
The recipe for the cookies and crisp is from Rachel Schultz
